CONFERENCE PROGRAMME

Technical sessions grounded in science and operational performance

The MEOS GEO Technical sessions, organised by SPE and co-organised by AAPG, EAGE and SEG,  form the scientific and technical core of the conference, delivering peer‑reviewed insight across the upstream energy value chain. Designed for geoscientists, engineers and technical professionals, these sessions focus on applied research, case studies and technical innovation aimed at strengthening upstream performance.

The Technical sessions programme for MEOS GEO 2027 is currently in development. Information on session topics, submission guidelines and review timelines will be released as the programme is confirmed.

What are the Technical Sessions?

The Technical sessions at MEOS GEO provide a platform for the presentation and discussion of peer‑reviewed technical work across key upstream disciplines. Sessions are developed to:

  • Share applied scientific and technical insight
  • Present real‑world case studies and lessons learned
  • Encourage knowledge exchange across disciplines and regions

The programme is structured to support technical depth while remaining relevant to upstream challenges faced by operators and practitioners.

How Technical Sessions fit within MEOS GEO

The Technical sessions are part of MEOS GEO’s integrated conference structure, sitting alongside the Strategic sessions to provide both depth and context.Together, they support MEOS GEO’s focus on strengthening upstream performance through science, access and partnership:

  • Science through peer‑reviewed technical content
  • Access through engagement with a diverse technical community
  • Partnership through cross‑disciplinary exchange and collaboration
